Information point

Thanks to the support provided through the EU co-funded program (Priority Axis 1: Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RDI) in support of economic competitiveness and business development, Investment Priority Energy, Environment, and Climate Change, Action 1.2.3: Partnerships for Knowledge Transfer), within the project 'Eco-innovative Products and Technologies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings - EFECON' this INFORMATION POINT has been created to assist investors, builders, and users of the built environment, as well as local public authorities, involved in construction projects, aiming to enhance the quality of constructions in terms of their energy efficiency.

The concept of sustainable development is a different approach from the classic one we are accustomed to when it comes to built infrastructure. Currently, constructions serving multiple functions, whether residential or industrial, are considered as subjects in a continuous evolution that must be modernized over time to meet the requirements set by users. Studies and interventions related to energy efficiency are highly relevant, ensuring appropriate comfort conditions. Alongside reducing energy consumption, other important objectives of sustainable development are achieved, namely: saving primary resources, developing and implementing alternative, renewable energy sources, as well as reducing pollutant emissions into the environment.

Improving energy efficiency can be achieved through various means, ranging from educating building users about energy conservation to relatively easy interventions. The effectiveness of these solutions depends on the stage of a building's life when their implementation is desired: either during the design phase or throughout the use of the built asset.

We hope that the information contained in the sections of this INFORMATION POINT will be helpful to those who access it.
