Information Seminar 4 - Report on the Implementation of Renewable Energy Sources or High-Efficiency Systems in Construction

On May 30, 2017, at 14:00, at the Faculty of Construction and Installations, ground floor, room 0.1, Iași, 1 Prof. Dr. Doc. Dimitrie Mangeron Street, the seminar "Report on the Implementation of Renewable Energy Sources or High-Efficiency Systems in Construction" took place.

The seminar was initiated with a well-documented argumentation of the topic through the implementation of European/worldwide energy directives and policies, with a particular impact on the field of the built environment, considering that traditional energy resources are expected to deplete after the year 2050.

The general trends in energy policies of reducing consumption and shifting energy generation policies from centralized to local and integrating sources, with a focus on reducing environmental impact, were highlighted, with numerous economic and social implications.

The most realistic prediction for the evolution of energy generation technologies is heading towards solar energy, which is the cleanest form and the source from which other forms of energy, such as wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass utilization, energy from water movement, tidal power, and last but not least, "zero-point" energy (so-called "free energy"), which is the most recent area of research interest, all derive from.

The theme of solar energy, its methods of generation, and the sources of harnessing "clean energy" were particularly developed, as well as solar energy conversion systems into usable forms of energy. Various types of collectors and storage systems (existing on the market or only in project form), PV solar cells, solar concentrators, co-generation systems, etc., were presented.

The report concluded with an extensive discussion on the topics presented, with questions/answers from the participants.
