Demonstration Session 1 Demonstration Session 2

Demonstration Session 1 - Laboratory Tests for Determining the Durability of Construction Materials

On June 19, 2017, at 13:00, the demonstration session on LABORATORY TESTS FOR DETERMINING THE DURABILITY OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS took place at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Department of Civil and Industrial Construction, located at 1 Professor Dimitrie Mangeron Boulevard, Iași.

The session was organized within the project "Ecoinnovative Products and Technologies for Energy Efficiency in Construction - EFECON," which is being implemented from 2016 to 2021 at the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iași.

The coordinator of this initiative was Prof. Dr. Eng. Nicolae Ţăranu, who presented, within the Laboratory for Physical and Mechanical Testing of Construction Elements, the behavior of an innovative model for hybrid structures, in which sustainability principles are analyzed for construction products designed through waste recycling, an environmentally friendly method that requires the least effort from society when it comes to environmental protection, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Demonstrative Session 2 - Laboratory Tests for Evaluating the Energy Performance of Building Materials

On July 6, 2017, at 10:00 AM, at the headquarters of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Installations, CMC Hall, Iași, 1 Prof. Dr. Doc. Dimitrie Mangeron Street, the demonstrative session "Laboratory Tests for Evaluating the Energy Performance of Building Materials" took place.

During this session, testing methods for identifying thermal insulation parameters were presented, as well as case studies focusing on heat transfer through the materials used in the construction of thermal insulation systems in civil buildings.

With the help of the climatic chamber, the necessary conditions were created to obtain a heat flow between a hot chamber at a temperature of 40°C and a cold chamber at a temperature of 20°C.

Additionally, participants witnessed a test of a heavy water barrel used at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant, in the Dynamic Testing Laboratory within the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Installations.
